Exciting Activities and Experiences

In 2023, Varbergs Tropikarium introduced an exciting new feature: visitors can now feed the apes, included in the entrance fee. This is subject to availability, so it's best to arrive early for the best chance to participate. Additionally, there's an opportunity to feed Farbror Frej, a massive 70kg tortoise, by simply swishing a small amount and grabbing a bunch of salad for feeding.

Accessibility and Convenience

The Tropikarium is designed to be accessible to everyone. While some passages are narrow (suggesting that visitors leave strollers outside), the facility is wheelchair friendly, ensuring that all visitors can enjoy the animal exhibits. There's also convenient handicapped parking right outside the entrance. For a perfect day out, visitors are encouraged to bring swimwear, as the beach is just a short distance away.

Meet the Team Behind the Magic

The Tropikarium is helmed by Therese Johansson, who previously managed Borås Tropikhus for 14 years before moving the operation to Tvååker. Andreas Wernlund, with his extensive experience with exotic animals, takes care of the diverse species housed here. Nisse Hilldén, a zoologist with a doctorate in fish behavior and extensive experience in animal care, including roles at Borås Djurpark and Havets Hus in Lysekil, is also part of this dedicated team.
