With most animal shelters and Humane Societies turning away pet pigs, Rooterville stepped in to fill the void, ensuring these animals found a safe haven. The sanctuary's mission expanded when they welcomed Stella, a breeding sow who had a traumatic past but found love and care at Rooterville. Inspired by Stella's story, the sanctuary opened its doors to the public, allowing visitors to witness firsthand the love and compassion farm animals deserve.

From its humble beginnings on a five-acre plot, Rooterville has expanded to over 20 acres, providing care and a permanent home to over 1000 rescued farm animals of various types.
